Oshkosh Airshow 1999 and the DC-3/C-47's in Attendance.

Below is a selection of photographs, all of which have been taken by myself at the Oshkosh Airshow, Wisconsin, USA. Oshkosh is the biggest Airshow in the world. Basler Turbo facilities are based at Oshkosh, they convert C-47's (not DC-3's) to the BT-67 Turbo-prop. They always have a large stock of C-47/DC-3's, and what they do not convert, they sell as spare parts to DC-3 owners. Other than Basler Turbo, Oshkosh brings many DC-3/C-47 visitors and I usually try and manage to photograph them all, over the course of my three day visit. I miss just one or two each year but get those the following year. I think you will find, that Oshkosh Airshow is certainly the place to be if you are a Goonery bird fan like I. If you have any questions or comments about any of the photo's, please E-Mail me and I will reply to you swiftly.

I would like to add that the heat at this years Oshkosh 99' Airshow was unbearable, it got as high as 126 degrees. And so, I came home a day earlier than planned because of it. Also of note was a new rule by Basler Aviation at Oshkosh, seems they have competition in the conversion of Turbo Props with a company based in Texas. Therefore there were about another 3 DC-3's that I was not allowed to photograph that were in mid conversion to BT-67's. One photograph would have been an absolute classic. It was an ex-RCAF C-47 still showing it's original livery except the BT-67 Turbo engines were already fitted onto it. Proof that the old RCAF collection of C-47's were in fine shape indeed with hardly any repairs needed to the original airframe.
